Without their support, this event wouldn’t be possible.

2024 ride coming up on april 6

Registration for the long awaited 2nd Te Waitere Classic Mountain Bike Ride is now open.

The  “Waitere” Ride is mainly unchanged from the previous ride.

The second part of the ” Taumata” ride has changed to include more native bush and private farm land.

We are very grateful to our local farm and forestry owners who have once more given permission for this event to take place on their lands.

E-bikes are welcome. Just make sure you and your e-bike are practised enough to go off road. And remember: the Te Waitere Classic is not a race! Enjoy the ride and the views.

Te Waitere Classic

The Te Waitere Classic is a Mountain Bike ride organised as a fundraising event to support the Te Waitere boat club, an important part of our community.

The event has two course distances, providing exclusive access over private farmland. Every finisher receives an attractive medal specially designed to represent our unique area.  Both courses have been designed to encourage mountain bike enthusiasts and leisure riders keen to discover our slice of the west coast

Breathtaking views of Mt. Karioi, Mt. Pirongia, Waitetuna Wind Turbines, Mt. Taranaki, west coast ridge-lines, and the inlets of Kawhia Harbour. Access to private farmland not normally open to the public. A varied and interesting terrain.
