We’re pleased to welcome you to our website for the inaugrual Te Waitere Classic MTB ride event.

Thanks to the team at Xava Digital for helping us out with this, and kindly donating the website for our event. We love it! Thank you.

The Te Waitere Classic is a fundraising event to support the Te Waitere boat club, an important part of our community. The ‘Boat Club’ homes two unique whaleboats, one which is over 110 years old. Annually over Christmas/New Year, regattas are hosted by the three harbour clubs, Kawhia, Oparau and Te Waitere.  To keep our whaleboats useable into the future and to support community projects, the Te Waitere Mountain Bike Classic was conceived.  Organised by passionate community volunteers, we invite anyone who wants to discover a new event and experience local hospitality. The event has two course distances, providing exclusive access over private farmland. Every finisher receives an attractive medal specially designed to represent our unique area.  Both courses have been designed to encourage mountain bike enthusiasts and leisure riders keen to discover our slice of the west coast.

We truly hope this event will become a stable fixture on the mountain bike rider’s calendar so that we can share our passion for ‘Our little piece of paradise’ with as many people as possible, while supporting our community.

Registration opens on January 1st 2019. Please share this event around your network and help us make this event an outstanding success.
